Fatzo Mouse

Introduction – The Fatzo mouse model mimics the characteristics of Metabolic Syndrome and polygenic obesity.

Selective breeding has resulted in a strain that exhibits obesity, insulin resistance, and moderate hyperglycemia (300-350 mg/dl).

Having a functional leptin receptor, this polygenic obesity model may be a better choice in many pk/pd studies of anti-obesity and anti-diabetic compounds due its characteristics that more closely mimic those of the human condition.
